How to securely get rid of data in your trash can

February 07, 2012, 5:30 PM — Here's how you can securely delete sensitive data on your Mac OS X Lion computer.

1. Use the following command:

Command+Right Click your trash can.

2. This will pull up a menu above the trash can.

3. Choose "Secure Empty Trash" and the data in your trash can will be deleted securely.
