How to see a preview of an item listed in Spotlight

February 22, 2012, 4:37 PM — Here's how to see a preview of an item listed in Spotlight's search results on your Mac.

1. Do a search in Spotlight.

2. Scroll down the list of results to find the item you're interested in.

3. Hover your cursor over that item and you'll see a preview pop up.

This makes it very easy and fast to find the item(s) that you are looking for in Spotlight. You don't have to click an item to see if it's what you wanted.
