February 22, 2012, 4:49 PM — Here's how you can select different pieces of text and copy them at the same time in TextEdit. This makes it much easier and faster to select portions of text for pasting into a new document. It also makes it easier if you want to cut multiple portions out of the text.
1. Open your TextEdit document.
2. Hold down the Command key and select the text you want to cut or copy.
3. While holding down the Command key, hit the next key you want to use (X to cut, C to copy).
Once you get used to using the Command key, you'll find it makes copying or cutting different portions of text much faster.
