Use Windows 8 PC Settings Panel

March 14, 2012, 2:14 PM — Here's how to use the Settings menu in Metro to configure Windows 8. Note that the Settings panel is different than the regular Windows control panel.

1. Go to the Charms Bar's Settings option.

2. Go to the More PC Settings link.

3. Here's some of what you can change in the PC Settings Panel:

Metro colors
Notifications
Search
Lock screen background
Names of attached devices
Synchronization settings
