July 03, 2012, 4:48 PM — Here's how you can easily change the default folder for screenshots in Linux Mint.
1. Hit Alt+F2.
2. Type mateconf-editor.
3. The Mate Configuration window will open.
4. Go to apps then mate-screenshot.
5. Edit the line last_save_directory to your preferred folder for screenshots.
Now Linux Mint will default to your new folder when you go to save a screenshot, instead of the desktop.
