Enterprises bringing data back in-house as they adapt to big data demands

Oracle survey shows that organizations no longer looking to third party providers for capacity support

While there may be no single driving factor for enterprises switching preferrence to internal data centres, what is clear is that the amount of data that organisations are dealing with is showing no signs of abating, with more respondents highlighting the need to make investments in data centre capacity.

The number of organisations indicating that they will need a new data centre in the next 12 months grew from 22% to 26%. On the other hand the number which say they have no need to increased capacity has fallen over the period, from 17% two years ago to 7% this year.
