Doesn't merging and flattening layers do the same thing?

Sometimes magic wand works great and is a time saver, other times it borders on useless. How does the tool pick the area of the image it will select?

I prefer having a physical copy of software, and that goes for everything from business software at my office to video games at home. Some companies are pushing hard to get away from physical copies, though, most recently Adobe with Photoshop. Are we at the end of the era of CD/DVD based software?

Do others have experience with these apps, or have another favorite? I'm testing a couple of these now, and would be interested in your experience. Thanks!

Is there a way to work with Google Docs when you don’t have an internet connection?

Is there a way I can print a hard copy of books if I own them on iBooks? I’m going on a camping trip and I would love to read a book I’m about halfway through, but I don’t want to carry around a tablet and be "that person".

Is there any need for BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) on Android? What’s does BBM do that makes it better than other messaging options? There is talk of it coming to the Android platform, and I have to wonder how much demand there is for it at this point, but maybe I'm missing something since I never owned a BlackBerry.

Can Microsoft Access files be used with OpenOffice? If so, how do I go about it?

Have the ISO file for Windows XP and would like it placed on a bootable DVD. What should I do? What kind of sw can do this?

I have to provide receipts for reimbursement when I return from business related trips. What’s the easiest way to convert photos of receipts taken with an Android phone to PDFs, which I can then forward to the appropriate person? It needs to be good quality.
