Corsair Memory Inc. Tuesday introduced a USB flash drive adapter that it said creates a push-button file backup for computers when any flash drive is plugged into it.

The Corsair Voyager Port, a USB-powered adapter, includes NovaBackup 10 backup and recovery software that can be activated by a button to store pre-selected computer files on a the flash drive inserted in the adapter.

"Our research indicated that over 80% of users have a My Documents folder of less than 64GB, and more than 85% need to regularly transport less than 64GB of data between different PCs. This shows that USB flash drives are an efficient method of backing up your data, and with high-capacity USB flash drives, there is still plenty of room for your favorite music, photos and even movies," said Jim Carlton, Corsair's vice president of marketing.

NovaBackup 10's Disaster Recovery option allows users to take a snapshot of the computer's system to preserve data in the event of a failure. The Voyager Port is being marketed as a storage capacity-saving option when combined with higher capacity 32GB or 64GB USB flash drives and notebooks and netbooks with small primary hard drives.

The Voyager Port is priced at US$34.99 retail, and is backed by a 10-year warranty and comprehensive customer support via telephone, email, forum and the Tech Support Express helpdesk.
