      Lower end outsourcing services are getting the whip; it might be difficult to maintain costs given the current scenario. But I believe it is more because of consolidation of costs locally than a genuine need to cut down on outsourcing.

      I couldn't agree more with point 1. Project leadership (including that of the client) is critical in keeping the flow smooth and on time. lack of focus and changing priorities will lead to not only project creep, but also will have adverse effects on the other fallacies that you have pointed out.

      As pointed out in the article, India might no longer be the first choice for IT outsourcing. But it still holds a upper hand in having a large pool of high skilled talent. Cost reasons apart, companies (specifically SMEs)stand to only gain in the long run with outsourcing.
