<title>C4 notes: Pizza and pie shakes</title>
 <link>http://www.itworld.com/hardware/79240/c4-notes-pizza-and-pie-shakes</link>
<description>The C4 indie Mac developer conference in Chicago is decidedly different. Different in that it&#039;s the brainchild not of some conference and expo company, but of one guy -- developer Jonathan &quot;Wolf&quot; Rentzsch. Different in that it&#039;s in Chicago. Different in that it&#039;s steadfastly a small event, happening over a weekend and with a relatively small capacity that makes it awfully hard to get into.

<title>I&#039;ve Looked at Code From Both Sides Now</title>
 <link>http://www.itworld.com/development/77532/ive-looked-code-both-sides-now</link>
<description>There&#039;s nothing like living someone else&#039;s job for a while to truly understand that a request for just one more &quot;little tweak&quot; doesn&#039;t seem so minor to a bleary-eyed coder who&#039;s just finished a 4 to 8 a.m. coding session.

<title>How Microsoft Made PHP Suck Less on Windows</title>
 <link>http://www.itworld.com/development/73001/how-microsoft-made-php-suck-less-windows</link>
<description>Windows might be a popular platform for running certain kinds of Web applications. But too many developers have been burnt by trying to deploy PHP applications on a Windows server. Microsoft is aiming to change that. In fact, while you weren&#039;t looking, they already made some improvements.

<title>Programming magic: Rituals and habits of effective programmers</title>

<description>Do you really write better code if your desk is clean, your water cup is full, or you chose to listen to Metallica instead of Enya? Without proof to the contrary, believing it works may just be enough.
