    I admit it: I love Siri. It helps that I work from home, so I can talk to my phone without inhibitions. It doesn't hurt that I generally crave pseudohuman contact. But the real reason is simply that I find Siri so useful. And in iOS 6, Siri has become even more useful than it was before.

    GetGlue started as Foursquare-style check-in app for TV--you could let others know what you're watching and get awards for your show check-ins--but the recently updated iPad app (which is compatible with any iPad running iOS 5.0 or later) adds more ways to interact and discover new shows. Although the interface could be more intuitive, these new features work well, and its large user community makes GetGlue the most engaging of the social TV apps available now.

However, the way we watch TV has changed quite a bit since then, and the app that bears the company's name attempts to keep up with the times. If you like a traditional list-type guide to find what's on, TV Guide's free app is a solid choice. The app makes it easy to find what's new and if streaming versions are available, though its social features lack in comparison to other TV companion options.
