Dell: We're not charging more for XP downgrades

Dell Tuesday denied that it has boosted the price of what it charges customers for "downgrading" to Windows XP from Vista when they purchase new desktops and laptops in the company's popular Inspiron consumer line.

More than five months after it stopped selling its popular Inspiron line of consumer desktop and laptop PCs with Windows XP , Dell Inc. is offering the systems with the aging operating system for a surcharge of US$150 over the newer Windows Vista.
