How long should it take to back up files using Windows 8 File History?

I am backing up my files using an inexpensive hard drive I picked up over the weekend using Windows 8 File History. I tested the drive and it seemed to work fine, but the process has been going on for well over an hour. Is it normal for it to take this long, or should I be worried?

i changed my desktop setting so my fiance and i could sleep together on cam (dont ask).we are seperated by distance at the moment. With the cam on the the screen was to bright so i turned off the desktop icons and changed the background to black and this worked.
