<title>How SaaS is Transforming IT Management</title>
 <link>http://www.itworld.com/saas/82001/how-saas-transforming-it-management</link>
<description>IT management isn&#039;t what it used to be. Gone are the days when an IT manager&#039;s success was measured by the size of the network he was responsible for.

 <title>Thirty years of spreadsheets</title>
 <link>http://www.itworld.com/internet/81845/thirty-years-spreadsheets</link>
<description>It was 30 years ago this week that the first electronic spreadsheet began shipping. Here are some things to put that event into context, along with a new service from Socialtext that is worth looking at.

<title>Don&#039;t Blame “The Cloud” or SaaS for Microsoft and Sidekick Stupidity</title>
 <link>http://www.itworld.com/small-business/80632/dont-blame-the-cloud-or-saas-microsoft-and-sidekick-stupidity</link>
<description>By now, you probably heard about poor Sidekick users who have lost their contacts, calendar entries, and other information due to a massive fail by T-Mobile&#039;s Sidekick division and the Microsoft subsidiary providing data services. People who hate “the cloud” or those selling local disk storage (often the same people) are cheering the loss because it seems to bolster their complaints about Software As A Service not being trustworthy. But a little digging shows the blame sits squarely on management stupidity, where you can usually find the root of all business problems.

<title>Your Sales Management Software Should Always Be SaaS</title>
 <link>http://www.itworld.com/small-business/77909/your-sales-management-software-should-always-be-saas</link>
<description>Every small business sales team starts small, usually with the owner doing sales, often using spreadsheets to track prospect details. Companies like ACT! have made millions providing structure and organization to prospect and customer tracking. But today, I strongly recommend using a hosted sales management program for two reasons: cost and control.
