    SandForce Inc. announced today a new family of solid-state disk (SSD) processors that the company claims will allow lower-cost, commodity NAND flash memory to be used in data center operations. The disks will also be faster and more reliable for use in mobile applications, the company said.

    I don't believe that the iPhone will ever become the dominant business smartphone, but there's little question that there's some substantial spillover happening as office workers bring their iPhones into the workplace, and even request them when it comes time for the boss to make a corporate purchase.

    BP, the Nectar loyalty card scheme and IT supplier Atos Origin on Monday launched a five-month personal carbon credit trading trial, intended to show that such a scheme could be set up inexpensively and using current technology.
