Review: Toshiba Satellite LX835-D3380, below average display, underperforming

    Posted January 26, 2013 - 8:40 am

The Toshiba Satellite LX835 starts at $1399.99, which doesn't exactly put it in the budget all-in-one category (if such a category even exists). But you'd never know that by looking at it--thanks to its be-stickered bezel, unimpressive touchscreen, and cheap peripherals, it doesn't exactly look like a top-of-the-line machine out of the box.

Review Toshiba Satellite P845T-S4310: a little to bulky for the price

    Posted November 23, 2012 - 11:27 pm

Toshiba’s Satellite P845t-S4310 is an interesting mix of budget laptop and all-purpose machine. It’s bigger and bulkier than most of the sleek machines on the market today, and its performance leaves quite a bit to be desired – even within its class. But it’s not quite at the price point ($800 or less) of a budget model, probably thanks to its sturdy aluminum body and premium speakers. This laptop is a Best Buy exclusive.

Toshiba Satellite R945-P440: Sturdy and so-so

    Posted October 20, 2012 - 7:35 am

The Toshiba Satellite R945-P440 is a solidly built 14-inch all-purpose laptop, but it looks positively monstrous next to the Ultrabooks and ultraportables on the market today. This 14-inch laptop measures a whopping 1.2 inches thick and weighs almost 5.2 pounds with accessories, which makes it sort of a drag to tote around. So the question is, why would you choose the Satellite R945-P440 over an Ultrabook, especially when you can pick up a sleek little number for about $100 more?

Hands-on with the Toshiba Excite 7.7 Android 4.0 tablet

    Posted June 9, 2012 - 7:40 am

Long before the Toshiba Excite 7.7 got its name, its prospects were cause for excitement. The tablet's beefy Nvidia Tegra 3-powered specs, its slim and lightweight design, its Android 4.02 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, and its high-resolution AMOLED display all made it a front-runner challenger on paper.

    Toshiba Satellite T135-S1310WH

Toshiba, let me officially welcome you to the CULV party. Today, the company unveils its not-quite-netbooks T100 line. But get this, the baseline models (the T115) in this notebook series start selling at $449. That's right, this thing is about 50 bucks more than Toshiba's chart-busting netbook, the NB205-310.
