<title>Don&#039;t become the next insider threat statistic</title>
 <link>http://www.itworld.com/security/54999/dont-become-next-insider-threat-statistic</link>
<description>I would never make disparaging comments about my wife, especially since she’s smarter than me and has a lot more letters after her name than I do, but she’s driving me crazy with the weather. Ever since she discovered the weather forecast websites, she browses to about 10 of them and tells me what they’re predicting about the weather. And usually while they’re predicting sunshine, it’s pouring rain and she’s asking me why they’ve got it wrong and what does it mean that there’s a 70% chance of something happening! She’s the one with the fancy degree, so why is she asking me?

 <title>One risky point</title>
 <link>http://www.itworld.com/security/53880/one-risky-point</link>
<description>Single point of failure. That&#039;s the right term for talking about the mess in San Francisco, where last week the city government finally regained control of its backbone network. Terry Childs, the net admin jailed for locking down administrative access, turned over the passwords during a secret visit from Mayor Gavin Newsom.

 <title>Beware the hacker next door</title>
 <link>http://www.itworld.com/opinion/53670/beware-hacker-next-door</link>
<description>The most common hacker is someone who gets to work early, takes his or her turn cleaning out the office fridge, tells funny stories at lunch and, at some point, makes a very dumb move. It often starts when this hacker-next-door sees a file directory or workstation that’s just too juicy to pass by, like one named &quot;Salary Comparison.&quot; It’s simply too tempting NOT to peek inside.

 <title>Enforcing Strong Passwords</title>
 <link>http://www.itworld.com/security/53625/enforcing-strong-passwords</link>
<description>You, as a savvy Windows Vista user, know how to create a strong password, and you can certainly pass along that information to the other people in your home or business, but how can you be sure that they&#039;ll take up the strong password gospel?
