File sharing in Windows Vista
One of the biggest gripes over the years about file sharing on Microsoft Windows platforms is that users can see files and folders on a network share even if they don't have permission to open those folders or read the files. Windows Tip: Locking a desktop at logon

Robocopy just got better
As an IT pro, you probably have a few favorite tools that you always rely on. If Robocopy isn’t already one of them, you may want to give it a look.

Scripting multiple Outlook windows
It's great to be able to create rules in Outlook that route incoming messages to the appropriate folders, but I'd like to have these folders always visible on my desktop so I can easily see new messages arriving in each folder. I found that outlook.exe has a number of command-line options. One of these is the /select option, which lets you open Outlook with the focus on the folder you specify. A little VBScript does the rest.
