Bio: Richard Muirhead, Founder and CEO of Tideway, gets a buzz from software, business-building and Amarone della Valpolicella. He has built two international businesses and has a proven ability to conceive elegant solutions to market problems. He was a co-founder of Orchestream and responsible for the strategic focus that led to the company’s IPO and a market capitalization of £1.0 billion. Its products are successfully marketed today by Oracle. Richard was an entrepreneur-in-residence at Accel Partners and strategy consultant at Monitor, helping set up the Moscow office. He was a finalist for the 2008 British Computing Society IT Leader of the Year Award and the 2006 UK Technology Innovation & Growth Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Under his leadership Tideway was named a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer 2009. Richard is a member of the British Computing Society, Cambridge Computer Lab Ring, and serves on the Board of Trustees for the Good Earth Trust. He holds an MA in Engineering from Cambridge University and dual Australian/UK citizenship. He has medaled for Great Britain in the U23 World Rowing Championships and rowed for South Australia in inter-state competition.
