Here's some footage of a NASA-supported project, in which a group of school children participated in getting "Camilla", a rubber chicken, launched into space.
Yes, yes, there was some actual science going on here, but it's still pretty sad that we're doing things like these instead of more ambitious projects like landing a human on Mars.
