Hulu on Xbox to be announced at E3?

File this under rumor, but according to gadget site Gear Live, Microsoft is going to announce Hulu on the Xbox 360 during its E3 press conference. Gear Live cites " a very reliable source (who has never been wrong before)" and says Hulu will be integrated into the dashboard in a manner similar to Netflix.

Lending some credibility to this rumor is a post over at Gizmodo, claiming that Olivia Munn (one of the hosts on G4TV's Attack of the Show, home to all things gaming and geeky) tweeted "Just finished promos for hulu/microsoft event I'm doing on june 8!" Giz says she later clarified the tweet by saying it was a Bing promo, but as of this morning those tweets have been removed from her feed. Adding Hulu to the Xbox 360 makes perfect sense. Microsoft's game console was the first to offer Netflix but now both the PS3 and the Wii do as well. Hulu would be an ideal way for the 360 to once more take the lead in offering streaming media to its users. On the other hand, Hulu has always claimed it doesn't have the rights to stream its content to anything but computer screens, which is why it goes out of its way to block its service from the PS3's web browser and Android's Flash player. If the 360 is really getting Hulu it means either that Hulu has renegotiated all those rights, or it will offer only a limited selection of its content. Or it's just been mis-informing us for all this time.
